We Offer Dentistry for Children with Special Healthcare Needs

There are many physical and psychological conditions that make receiving dental care highly uncomfortable and many children do not receive appropriate care as a result. This is where special healthcare needs dentistry comes in. When you need a highly skilled special needs dentist in Camp Hill, Cumberland Valley Pediatric Dentistry is here for you.

Children with special healthcare needs due to physical, medical, developmental, or cognitive conditions require special consideration when receiving dental treatment. Each patient is unique so obtaining a complete medical and dental history is key to providing comprehensive dental care to patients with special health care needs. Learning about past dental experiences in addition to a patient’s home oral hygiene care is important. Patients with special health care needs may require medical consultation prior to dental treatment.

Our Skilled Team Will Provide Your Child With Exceptional Care

Dr. Jacqueline Caster is highly experienced in treating children with special healthcare needs. After her graduation from dental school, Dr. Caster went on to complete a General Practice Residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois where she discovered her passion for providing dental care to children as well as patients with special health care needs. After working several years as a general dentist, she additionally completed a two-year Pediatric Dentistry Residency at Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Caster has worked with patients with special health care needs for 8 years.

What To Expect at a Dental Appointment

When you make an appointment, be sure to discuss your child’s particular needs with the dental professional. Find out what will happen prior to the appointment so you can plan accordingly. A complete medical and dental history will help provide comprehensive dental care to our patients with special health care needs. Communication, positive reinforcement, and a caring touch will be expedited during the appointment.

Our team continually strives to meet your child’s needs and works with their limitations for a positive dental experience every time. If your child has special healthcare needs, we would be happy to discuss your options and guide you through the regular dental care that you need.
